Urbana Community Event
On October 30th, we were invited to an Urbana Community Festival for Diwali (Festival of Lights). We showcased our outreach robot by allowing many kids ranging from 4-10 years old to drive the robot. Many of the kids were interested in joining FIRST, so we provided them and their parents more information. Wootton Fall Festival
To spread STEM and FIRST among our local schools, we participated in a booth at our local high school’s fall festival. There were a variety of booths displayed, but our robotics booth stood out amongst the others. We attracted more than 50+ students. 1HOUR Life Sessions
We worked with a non-profit organization, 1HOUR Life, to teach 137 elementary schoolers about the basics of robotics and what FIRST is. We taught 5 sessions to the students of Our Lady of Grace School in London, England. The students were very engaged and we enjoyed teaching and answering all of their questions about robotics! 2nd Annual FLLC Share & Learn
As a result of COVID-19, FLLC tournaments were online, so teams didn’t get to interact with other teams. We hosted a “Share & Learn” session for FLLC teams to hear about each other’s projects and robot design strategies. Family & Friends Information Session
After our last season, we wanted to share what we had accomplished with members in our community as well as our friends. We held an information session where we talked about FIRST programs and our season accomplishments. We had around 80 people log into the Zoom session to listen. |
